Hey,

Im very interested in buying your project - the silver or gold membership. Ive already uploaded JEvents (Its great) and would like to give my login-users the opportunity to have their own calendar on their site /blog site (for that we used the community builder). Furthermore, they should be able to share some (not all, because some events shall be still private) of their events with the community or with a group (for that we are using the groupjive).
Additionally we need a calendar, which can be synchronized with the private calendar on my computer (ical...) - is it possible to use caldav as well?
Please tell me that JEvents combines these features :)
Im looking forward to hearing from you!

Hello,

You can do all that with JEvents Silver Subscription and the user specific events plugin.

We have caldev done at about 80%. But there was't much demand for it since we mainly use iCal.

Many thanks

Oh wow - that would be perfect. Is there a demo-version, which I could check before buying the silver membership?

What means 80%? :)

Many thanks

One more question: Does it look like a calendar or is it just a list of events?
Do you have a screenshot maybe?

Thank you

Hello,

I'm afraid our only demos are at:

http://www.jeventsdemos.net

We do offer a 30day money back guarantee though!

It can be a calendar or a list of events. JEvents Free version will show you the basic display.

Many thanks
Tony

Hello Tony,

I bought the gold membership now and installed the Community Builder Plugin. How can I manage now to give my users the opportunity to share one event only with some CB Members or with one group?

Many thanks

You have a couple of options (depending on what you mean by "share one event only with some CB Members or with one group? "

Using RSVP Pro you can make the event private so that only invitees can see it and then invite specific users or select all members of a Joomla user group or CB GroupJive group. When you edit an event you should see the 'invitations' tab and then you enable invitations. Then when you view the event on the event details page you can do the invitations from there.

Hi

One year ago you wrote "We have caldev done at about 80%" . What is the actually state?
I'm very interested in a CalDav integration. I found other components like JEvents with CalDav but your component has the best attandee management.

Thank you.

Hello,

The demand has been minimal at best. But geraint can you confirm the status?

Many thanks

We got a proof of concept working for event creation but it has a lot of loose ends to tie up.

As Tony said the demand has been low so development has not been active.

marsu I'm afraid the level of demand doesn't justify the effort required to create this functionality.

Most users can achieve what they need using event importing from external calendars.

Me too, I'm working a lot with Nextcloud calendars. To use Jevents as direct interface would raise it's attractivity a lot!
I guess, many people don't ask - (as me) - seeing that Jevents does not provide this functionality, they are looking for an alternative.

No... I think not at all - if you mean using ics files for data export/import? This means a manual action whenever a calendar changes.

If you mean something else, please explain how "iCal" helps to sync between JEvents calendar and Nextcloud (Caldav) calendar - not a (manual) export/import - a sync.

The request is that the application has to sync automatically on every calendar change/date edit.
Dates are not scheduled and described once an then fixed. They can change, they can move etc.

We use several Nextcloud (Caldav) calendars to organize all our personal and business dates.
Different devices for editing calendars/dates also. Adding a new date on the phone - immediately it is available on PC/Mac in Thunderbird... and vice versa.

My plan/dream is to integrate/sync dates on my webpage the same way. Adding a date or changing a date in a Nextcloud calendar, automatic sync to the website calendar. And also adding/changing dates in JEvents populates to the Nextcloud calendar.

Kind regards, Ekant

Hello,

you can use iCal to routinely import every X time without manual action but there will be slight delays also known as subscribe to calendar see:

https://github.com/nextcloud/documentation/issues/508 the last post says:

You can also subscribe to a calendar. Unlike an imported calendar, a
subscribed calendar will update as the subscribed calendar changes on
the server.

In the left panel of the Calendar app, click on "+ New
Subscription". This will bring up a dialog, with the cursor set to a
box for a link to an ical calendar. Enter a valid URL. Click on
"Create".

Thank you for your effort to convince me :-)

But... This both is each only a one-way update. Did you ever try what you propose to me?
Trying to follow your advice, I could not figure out how to use Jevents iCal URL import together with Nextcloud. Using the URL with ?export did not work.

And I'm not sure, if it works in every situation: Does it remove server-side deleted events? Does it not re-import events? Does it replace changed events?

Another very clear need is to have not a public calendar interface - so I need authentication to access the server.

Please, if you have a solution that works for you in practice, I would try to reproduce it, to be more clear on this topic.

Hello,

1. Did you create a JEvents iCal Export Menu item? Then generate an export and right click / copy the iCal URL for next cloud?

2. You can do a two way import .One from nextcloud and then vice versa. Because they are seperate it should show in each and only sync from one if you follow? JEvents will need the Calendar Menu and Module Restrictions plugin to limit the export menu item to the 1 calendar, but you can do that once you get the above working.

That should be fine, if you just htaccess protect the server to your other servers ip address.

Many thanks
Tony
