I have looked a lot of places but cannot find the danish translation file.

Where do I find it?

Perhaps it's a codification issue. Just open the file with a text editor (notepad ++ in windows, gedit on Gnome...) and save it as UTF-8. You can also look for a Text converter on the web. ;)

Nowadays we don't have a Danish translator, so that is an old version of the file. I think it is not neccesary, but you may have to register at joomlacode to download the file.

Hi all,

I'm registered at Joomla Code and even though I log in I still get the message "Permission denied" when I try to click the link for the Danish translation file. Could there be any other link to the file or any other way to access the file?

Thank you so much for taking you time :)

This is the file concerned. It is quite old and only a partial translation.

We are looking for new translators so if you are able to complete the translation that would be great (official translators on the project get club membership benefits ;) )

Thanks! I have a couple of questions:

1) Where do I place the file to make it work? (Sorry, I'm new at this, but I do know my way around my ftp-account, so if you have a path? :) )
2) I may want to complete the file. But how do I do this? Do I just open the file and replace everything written in English with Danish (I'm used to translating documents but not files so it's diffucult for me to see which part of the file I should translate)? If I translate the file how do I send it to you so that you can pass it on (do I just post it here)?

Thanks again :)

Thanks, I followed the tip and placed the file in the two folders:

* <Your Joomla Site>/languages
* <Your Joomla Site>/administrator/languages

and renamed the file da-DK.com_jevents.ini - but there is no change on my website. I also tried by letting the file keep the name danish.ini - but no changes.

What am I doing wrong?
Thanks :)

Woops, I did it, just needed to place it in the da-DK subfolders :) Thank you again!

I will take a look at translating the last bits and will be back if I'm able to create such a file :)

Hi.
I have translated the language to Danish, I am not sure that everything is correct, my English is not that good.
The file is attached.

Just downloaded the zip file - this is only a partly translation of a rather old language file, I think.

I am currently working on a translation of the most recent version of JEvents (1.5.3) - translating from scratch using the english language file. Both frontend and backend and the xml-file as well, so upload from the backend is possible (and easy).

At the present time, I have finished the frontend, and about half of the backend.

I will let you know as soon as have the whole thing completed.

Best Regards
Lars

I've created a Danish translation for the newest Jevents version 1.5.5. All strings have been translated in this site-file, including those for the modules. You'll find it attached.

If you're new here, just place the file in this destination folder:

public_html/language/da-DK

Thanks for a great forum :)

Hi there!!!

I have packaged the Danish language pack and you can download it now from the Downloads area:

http://www.jevents.net/en/downloads/cat ... ents-1.5.5

The package contains the site translation created by forfattervaerk for JEvents 1.5.5, and the admin translation created by larsw for JEvents 1.5.3, and for this reason is marked as incomplete.

I hope this helps.

PS: You can install this package directly from the Joomla! installer.
